As a mid-career researcher at Sydney's Macquarie University, I have investigated how innovative digital start-ups achieve their traction. Current doctoral project relates to design science research approach in management and entrepreneurship. In research and teaching, I have thrived at the intersection of entrepreneurship, strategic management and Information science.
Board and corporate executives as well as start-up founders need to create capacity for digital excellence. I have helped marketing and digital professionals manage their professional learning & development systematically via KnowledgeCareer application. I run a highly regarded and popular public course on digital strategy and have trained marketing and digital managers from organisations as diverse as IKEA, Westpac, ASX, Salesforce and the NSW Government in more than 25 workshops since 2010. As a unit convenor at Macquarie University, I have assisted young marketing and management professionals and masters students to be theoretically rigorous in knowledge but also be practically sound in skills.
In industry practice with innovative digital start-ups and in corporate innovation and product teams, I have built and executed start-up strategies with contemporary methodologies such as Value Proposition Canvas, Business Model Canvas, Lean Canvas, Scaling Lean, Customer Development, Lean Start-up and ESSSDM. I have also worked within SEI-CMM level 5 software quality management environment. Practice also includes planning, training and building the key building blocks of digital marketing, advertising and analytics. I bring in expertise on search, social media, content, email marketing and analytics including Google AdWords Professional certification in search advertising, display advertising, analytics and Hootsuite social media. I have worked at Yahoo!, 24/7 Real Media (a WPP group company) and NSE.IT. in a corporate career and several small, agile Sydney based firms such as PWN and digital agencies such as Glasshat as a consultant at Simplogy.
